Description: |
Congregate Meal Coordinator, YWCA Oaktree Manor, T14603 Fonmeadow Drive, ( Temporary position, one year) The Congregate Meal Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating the daily activities of a senior center to address the needs and interests of an older population. Responsibilities include managing an efficient and effective nutrition program, developing and implementing a calendar of activities that addresses health, nutrition, and economic needs of program participants.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and coordinate a variety of activities that address the needs and interests of the specific site participants;
2. Train and supervise site volunteers in meal service requirements;
3. Recruit and retain clients in order to meet utilization targets;
4. Maintain and timely submit accurate records of clients served and the services received;
5. Conduct or coordinate nutrition education sessions at least monthly;
6. Conduct evaluation surveys to obtain input from participants about programs;
7. Conduct evacuation drills at least every six months
8. Conduct community outreach to increase participation in nutrition program
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES
1. Obtain and maintain current Food Service Manager’s Certification
2. Ensure facility compliance with local sanitation rules
3. Plan and coordinate field trips consistent with the objectives of the YWCA
4. Exhibit courteous and professional conduct

Skills: |
1. Read, write and follow oral and basic written instructions, as is normally acquired through 12 years of formal education resulting in a high school diplomacy
2. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
3. 30 hours per week required.
